Abstract

Education aims to shape individual maturity through learning, teaching, and value internalization. However, many students still lack proper character, requiring teachers to act not only as transmitters of knowledge but also as moral guides. This article explores KH. Hasyim Asy’ari’s perspective in Adab al-‘Alim wa al-Muta‘allim on the teacherstudent relationship. He emphasized that teachers must be sincere, exemplary, and responsible for instilling values and culture in education. Meanwhile, students should be earnest in learning, respect their teachers, follow advice, and uphold proper manners. The study shows that educational success is not merely measured by academic achievement but by the synergy between the teacher’s role and the student’s dedication. KH. Hasyim Asy’ari’s view provides a valuable foundation for education rooted in knowledge, ethics, and spirituality, remaining relevant in addressing today’s moral challenges.


ABSTRAK


Pendidikan bertujuan membentuk kedewasaan individu melalui proses belajar, pengajaran, serta internalisasi nilai. Namun, masih banyak peserta didik yang belum menunjukkan akhlak terpuji. Kondisi ini menuntut peran guru tidak hanya sebagai penyampai ilmu, tetapi juga pembimbing moral. Artikel ini menelaah pandangan KH. Hasyim Asy’ari dalam Adab al-‘Alim wa al-Muta‘allim mengenai hubungan guru dan murid. Menurut beliau, guru harus ikhlas, memberi teladan, serta menanamkan nilai akhlak dan budaya dalam proses pendidikan. Sementara itu, murid dituntut bersungguh-sungguh dalam belajar, menghormati guru, menaati nasihat, dan menjaga adab. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan pendidikan tidak hanya diukur dari prestasi akademik, tetapi juga dari keterpaduan antara peran guru dan kesungguhan murid. Pandangan KH. Hasyim Asy’ari memberikan kontribusi penting dalam membangun pendidikan berbasis ilmu, akhlak, dan spiritualitas, yang tetap relevan untuk menghadapi tantangan moral generasi masa kini.
